Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much do classes cost and what is the schedule?
   1. Classes vary in cost. The costs and schedule are available HERE.
2. When is payment due?
   1. Payment is due BEFORE the 25th of each month in order to reserve your spot. No spots will be held after the 25th if payment has not been received. You also will not be allowed to stay for class if you have no paid yet.
3. What happens if we miss a class?
   1. We will allow makeup classes if there is space in the class time that you want to attend. Makeups must be done during the month you are enrolled in. We do not allow rollovers. We do not guarantee makeup classes.
4. Can we change class times each week?
   1. Class times must remain the same for the entire month. This allows us to limit class sizes.
5. What do I need to bring to class?
   1. Bring lots of HIGH VALUE treats. Also bring you dog on a regular collar or harness (no choke, prong or shock collars) and a regular 4-6 foot leash (no retractable leashes)
6. Do you train Service Dogs?
   1. We help owners train services dogs through a combination of both group classes and private lessons. There must be a legitimate disability that a service dog will help mitigate. We will not “certify” service dogs just so you can bring them everywhere with you.
7. What is required to join the Pre-Agility class?
   1. You must have attended at least one full month of either puppy or manners class at Cloud K9 and have instructor approval.
8. What is required to join the CGC class?
   1. Instructor approval is required for the CGC class. If you are not a current student, you will need to be evaluated during one of our manners classes before being allowed into the CGC class. No reactive or aggressive dogs are allowed in this class.
9. What is required to join the Therapy Dog class?
   1. Instructor approval is required and your dog must be able to pass the CGC test. No reactive or aggressive dogs will be allowed in this class.
10. What methods do you use?
    1. We use science based methods of positive reinforcement.
11. What equipment do you recommend?
    1. We recommend regular collar (martingales are okay) and front clip harnesses. Choke, prong and shock collars are not allowed in the facility.
12. When can we start class?
    1. Classes are open enrollment so you can start at any time. Please make sure there is space in the class you want to attend by emailing us at rachel@cloudk9academy.com
13. Should I do manners or puppy?
    1. Dogs must be 17 weeks or under at the start of the month in order to do puppy class. All dogs older than that should enroll in manners class.
14. Does manners class involve off leash play?
    1. The manners class does not involve any play time. Play styles start to individualize between 17-20 weeks. This makes play times much more difficult to manage as groups need to be divided into play styles. Therefore, we do not allow it in any class other than puppy class.
15. My dog is aggressive. What class should I do?
    1. You will need to start with either the gold or platinum fusion program. Those packages are available HERE.
